Teaching the Vietnam War Discussion List
The purpose of this Discussion List is to provide a forum where teachers, students, researchers, scholars,and others can share information about experiences in teaching and learning the history of the Vietnam War. This includes information on sources, materials, class assignments, and many other related topics of interest to list members. Joining the list is easy - as is removing yourself should you decide to do so at a later date. All of the information needed to add or remove yourself is included below. We have also established several important rules about posting information to the list that all list participants must follow. Please take moment to review them before you sign up.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an open discussion group, meaning that any member of the group can send messages to the entire group.

Discussion List Rules
There are only a few rules that must be followed when posting to our Teachers Resource Web Discussion List:
- Do not distribute file attachments using the list. If you wish to contribute materials so that others can access them, please use the Submit Materials Form and we will add them to the Teachers Resource Web.
- Do not distribute copyrighted materials on the list. If you are not sure about the copyright status of an item, feel free to contact Vietnam Archive staff via email to assist in that determination.
- Please remain civil and polite in all of your messages and exchanges. Rudeness and insults will not be tolerated.
Joining the List
To join our mailing list, go to the sign-up/login page and click "Join teachvietnamwar". Please enter your email address, name, a password of your choosing, and click the save button. You will then receive an email from the list to confirm that you are joining. Simply reply to the message, and the joining process is complete.
In addition to receiving the messages through email, an archive of past messages is available online. Simply go to the sign-up/login page and enter your email address and password, then, on the following page, click "Read Messages."
Posting messages to the List
There are two ways to post messages to the list. The first is to send an email to teachvietnamwar@lyris.ttu.edu. Please be sure to include a subject line. The second is to go to the sign-up/login page and enter your email address and password, then, on the following page, click "Create a New Message". Then fill in the fields and follow the prompts.
You can also reply to message sent to the list. Please remember that when you hit the Reply button in your email software, you will be sending a message to the whole list, not just the person who posted the original message.
Confidentiality and Junk Mail
We realize that most people get entirely too much junk email and so some of you might hesitate to sign up. We promise not to add too much clutter to your Inbox. In addition, your email information is kept confidential as you will create a personalized login with a password and will be able to change your email address or remove yourself from the email service at your convenience. As with all personal contact information, we will keep your email address confidential and will not release it to any other parties.
Removing yourself from the List
There are two options for leaving the list. You can go to the sign-up/login page, login in, and click the "Leave (unsubscribe)" button, or send a blank email message to the address listed at the bottom of every message you receive from us.
